I am a quantitative macroecologist, bringing together empirical, computational, and modeling tools to understand the future and history of interactions between humans and natural systems. My recent research seeks to understand, quantify, and predict the diversity and functioning of vertebrate communities faced with anthropogenic disturbances.

My work in the ORNL Climate Change Science Institute aims to mobilize large-scale terrestrial ecology data in an effort to better understand and predict global change. All my research is motivated by a desire to understand and prevent human-caused losses of biodiversity.
